i want to build a bank for keeping my hatchies in.
if anyone has any photos of there set ups or any advice
for me on things such as design, heating, etc. please post them.
im looking at using heat cord.
i dont have the tooling to cut grooves in each shelf.
is it alright just to run the cord along the bottom of each shelf
at the back.
Heres a pic of a hatchling rack I have. I run heat tape along the back 1/3 of each shelf. Gives a nice gradient. Easy to make yourself, all wood was purchased at bunnings, no cuts needed, just screw together and away you go.
What size are the containers in the shelving unit Morelia Morphs? And where did you get the heat tape etc? If you could do up some instructions on how you set it up- we'd be much obliged- I've not seen such an easy set up before- most of the ones I see are really intricate!
have you found you get bowing in the middle of the shelves?
Mr magic. I get my 1200mmx595mm sheets for $19.80 from bunnings. On MM's rack Im assuming those are the shelfs lengths aswell as the two sides which are 2400mmx595mm which are $42.40.
12 shelves = 237.60
2 sides = 84.80
Total for melamine = $322.40
40 tubs, say $5 each = $200
15 metres of heat tape = about $350
External thermostat $75
Approx $900 for the entire rack. for 44 hatchie/juvies is not bad, seeing as you would spend probably the same amount on 2-3 adult enclosures.
