Hi, I am looking for some help with a female 12 month old that doesn't seem to be interested in eating or activity in general. Can anyone help with some advice? Thanks.:(

Bird eating spiders are normally very non-active creatures, preferring to sit in their burrow or their web. It isn't abnormal to not see a bird eater for 6 months, so don't worry. She may be amount to moult, in which case keep the humidity up and don't disturb her.

Any idea on species? Some are more active than others - post a pic and someone may be able to ID her.

Andrew, thank you. I was under the impression they moulted in the warmer / summer months?

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I'm advised she is a Selenocosmia Crassipes. I'm new to the site and still figuring out how it all works!
