That's the way that species is. Possibly the most endangered species of iguana today - only 30 left in the wild.

Aren't Iguanas = Iguana iguana? Is a Cyclura a different species altogether?
I personally don't miss them in our choices of reptiles to keep. I read that the iguana gets to 6 ft and I read they were not for everybody. Some people allow them to free roam. I saw 1 once in person at the Zoo, and It left me thinking of the missing link.
They are regal not attractive to me.

Em :p

Em,

Iguanas belong to the family Iguanidae. They all look fairly prehistoric. The Green Iguana, Iguana iguana, is the most common in the pet trade and does get up to 6 - 7 feet. Cyclura is a genus of ground iguanas. They can also grow quite large. But there are also many smaller species.
