I work very close to the crystal cascades - brrrrrr, cold as this time of the year, but you melbournites could handle it I guess

Will you have a car? If you have a car stay somewhere unique then... And do lots of drive outs. There's some awesome spots around. And I'm sure we can arrange a small dinner out or something to meet up... I'm keen - sushi anyone???

Will you have email and access to APS when up here to arrange?

Pacific International is nice. Its just over the road from the casino and there's plenty of eateries within walking distance. The deal clencher for me was that as dusk falls you have all the flying foxes coming into the city at night. If you have a room on about the 9th floor they fly past at about face level in wave after wave. I thought it was pretty cool but maybe that's just me

Ditto, Pacific International is great. That's where we've stayed in the past. Love it.

Well i'm finally here in Cairns, well Kuranda.It is the most beautiful place. I could very easily live here.
Would love to catch up with some APS people up here....
Haven't seen much herps, saw a BIG python just out of Charters Towers, but sadly he'd been hit by a car and the crows had gone to work on him....
Heading to Mossman Gorge and the Daintree today so hopefully i'll get some good pics.

Clifton Beach is great and i would try Mission Beach too. Outside of Cairns but both places are brilliant.
