This is a male that I got a few months ago. His name is Peavey, because I sold one of my Peavey Guitar Amps to buy him.

Hi Playwell,

Congratulations on your new male. Nice one.
I like his strikingly barred upper labials 8)

Also, I was curious as to their geographic origins. :?:

Thanks all for the kind comments.

The female was witnessed mating with another male, but the due date is 3 weeks pasted and is now due to shed any day.
She is a large girl dispite being a diet.

I believe this colouration is typical of Sydney/Wollongong area.

The female picutred here has a lot of yellow but doesnt shoe it here as she is due for a shed.

Great looking snakes. Any chance of you showing off some pics of your outdoor enclosures as well. I need ideas.

OK,

So do ya think it's big enough?

I have only had this one up for about a month now. Not all finished but about 90% there.
Had them in a smaller one before.

Yep, i love a diamond with strongly barred lips.

Good diamonds, Playwell. They have the pattern that i love, not too much yellow. And they do look like diamonds typical of Wollongong.

Also, dont you just love that foam-a-fill stuff? I used to use that for filling gaps in my old diamond avairy. Did you get any on your hands?

I did with the first avairy I built, it took about a week to get it all off.

This time I used latex gloves. :)

I'm impressed and pretty jealous. I wonder how I'd go building something like that in Melbourne climate wise.

What sort of plants did you use and could you use pretty much anything?

Thanks for posting the pics.

The plants are plastic, much easier that way.

One more pic, this is another male that seems to have claimed this box. He often sits at the door looking like this. But when food is on he is out like a flash.
Different female on top.

I dig your diamond house. It's fantastic! And what a beautiful crew you've got! Don't you love it when they sit looking out of the doorway, just keeping an eye on the world!

Thanks for the vital statistics Playwell.

I suspected Wollongong/Sydney geographic origin.

So your female may be gravid, though overdue.
Good luck, Santa's still delivering. ( I hope!)

I adore your enclosure, it's a brilliant set-up!.
Truly inspiring! 8)
As good as Lord Serpents

By the way, what are you guys talking about here?:-

Did you construct it yourself or was it prefabricated :?:

Also, where do you buy the components or kit from :?: .

 I'm wanting to set up something like that up, as it seems to be definitely the way to go with Diamonds!

Cheers, zen

Zen, if you look at Playwells pic of his enclosure you'll see he has white stuff oozing out from the edges around his roof. It's a foam that expands to fill gaps.
It has many names but i've always called it Foam-a-fill. Very sticky and hard to get off skin.

Thanks Serpenttongue,

I can see it now in the pic of Playwells enclosure.
So I assume it's used to thoroughly fill gaps to effectively prevent escape.

I'll probably need some of that stuff, as I've got some colourbond sheeting that I plan to use for my enclosure.

You guys are an inspiration.

Cheers, zen

It's good stuff Zen. Expands quickly and sets quickly. Can be cut, sanded and painted. Over a few years it turns yellow and brittle but still keeps gaps filled and sealed. I think it's about $20 a can from hardware shops. But do as Playwell did, wear gloves!!!
