different clutch sizes? eastern vs central

i just have a quick question...
on adrians reptile world last night he said that eastern beardies have an average of 12-15 eggs per clutch, and centrals have an average of 25...
why is there so much variation in clutch sizes?

Well no-one told my girls that, our eastern had 23 in her 1st clutch & 21 in her 2nd & the centrals had between 18-23 eggs in each clutch
