DIY Enclosure Build

Hey guys, recently I dropped into the Salvo's to have a look around for some used aquariums and stumbled across this bookcase that was a bargain! cost me $26...Anyway, I thought I would put it to good use and maybe over the next year and a half I can make an enclosure for my Bredli when he is old enough.

I don't really have much experience with tools and carpentry so I would love it if some of you chippers, or anyone with experience would give me some tips on building this thing

P.S The wood at the bottom are the shelves...Maybe I could use them to my advantage or make something nice...
