A 75W infrared (from Reptile One) @ 8 bucks, would be cheaper than the heat resistant paint, no?

He can't get them to suit his fitting, and he's mentioned that he can't change the fittings, so he needs to improvise.

I didn't get that part, maybe I didn't read it? Ooops.

So he must have a bayonet fitting?

I thought they were illegal nowadays, no?
(I went to Bunnings the other day with and old bayonet bulb I found in my garage and I was told so)

Nonetheless, a ceramic batten holder (w/ Edison fitting and mounting bracket) for $10 and a IR bulb for $8 may lessen the stress and headache?

So, the existing fitting for white light and by mounting another to roof of enclosure for IR/heat source.
That's how I've done for my bluey.

You must be having a bad day today :p. He said in the OP it's a GU10 fitting. It is a special type of 240V halogen downlight fitting. They are excellent for creating very warm basking spots efficiently. Nothing like an ES or bayonet fitting

Not cellophane but you can use light gels which are heat resistant.

thank you very much Every one
