Just wondering if anyone used down lights for their enclosure and what temps they get (basking, hot side, cool side)? If you could add the height away from the basking area as well that would be good.

If you guys could post pics that would be great as well!:)

What species are you trying to heat? I used a 50w downlight around 18-22c from basking spot to get 43c, when my beardie was a junk. Now use a 42w Osram halogen that produces a wider beam.

Sorry, both lights. Which is cheaper to run? Is the Osram 42W a GU10 fitting?

The Osram is cheaper, being it is 42w and not 50w. I have found he Osram is better due to the wider basking area it provides, an adult beardie under a single gu10 lamp doesnt allow very good heat soak.
