Hi, just wondering if anyone's python has ever escaped and if so, how did it get out. I am about to adopt a 6ft Darwin Carpet Python and would hate for anything to happen to any of my 3 dogs should he accidentally get out. I am probably worrying about it too much but I just need to be mindful of when he is out, locking enclosure etc.

Escaped pythons are usually small pythons squeezing themselves out of small gaps. A python of this size would only escape due to negligence - leaving cage open etc. just be sure to contain it properly and there will be no issues. On a side note Id be more worried about the python. The dogs would surely have the upper hand.

remember that a 6ft python is fairly strong
make sure things like vents are secure
