Hi all,
I just had a 3 week holiday in Far North Qld. I was based in Port Douglas but spent a bit of time up The Cape and in the Daintree.
While I was up there I checked out a few zoos and thought id give you all a review on some.

The 1st zoo is Cairns Tropical Zoo.
IMO this zoo is fantastic, the staff and keepers are friendly and know what their talking about. The range of animals is quite broad from Birds to Red Pandas and heaps of Reptiles.
This place is well worth a visit if your up that way.

pic 1&2/ Coastal Taipan, 3/ Inland Taipan, 4/ mating pair of Blue Bellied Black snakes,
5/ Eastern Brown.

Being a Reptile nut I spent most of my time in the snake house, They also had crocs but I was crocked out by this time seeing quite a few in the wild and other zoos, so I didnt take pics of the ones here.
Some more photos.
Pic 1/ Scrubby, 2/ GTP, 3/ GTS, 4/ Pilbra Death Adder, 5/ Netted Dragon.

Sorry Froglet, this saltie was called Zack.

Bugger,

Did you see Sarge at all?
I didnt spend much time looking at the Crocs, so I didnt get to check him out.
I was talking to one of the reptile keepers there and he let me handle the Boyds Forrest Dragons, so I spent most my time in the reptile house playing with Boyds.

As soon as Boyds are Legal in vic, Im getting a few of these awsome little Dragons.

Nice photos.I was up there a few weeks ago and the reptile display was my favourite part, along with the bloke that got the Mulga snake and Inland Taipan out for a show.Did you see the 3 Childrens pythons in with the Scrubby? Or the Olive python hosed with Green Tree frogs?

Im pretty sure Sarge is still there!!

What other zoo's did you go to?? im from cairns, so ive been to them all and done some work at a couple too..

Great pics Andy. Really love the Tawny. He looks like he is smiling for you! And I have to agree, the Boyds are gorgeous. They are on my "one day" list. It gets bigger every time you put up pics! lol.

Nice pic of the Fiercy...think i got the same one...they are a lice looker arent they! id you see the massive Retic there? Did you happen to see Gummy...the poor old deformed bastard...incorrect incubation=not good
