This parrot was sitting on the fig tree next door, so I got a couple of photos in the hope someone here could tell me what it is?

I know the pictures are really bad but it's all I could get. I thought it was a rosella, but I have next to no idea about birds.

Looks like a King Parrot, Alisterus scapularis

I'd have to agree, looks very much like a king parrot to me.

Def" a King parrot.
Seen a few lately around Sydney and the Shoalhaven.
Bit bigger than a Rosella though! ;)

Male King Parrot :) we get 2-3 females around home sometimes

yeah... females only have red on the lower underside of their body, males are red all up the front and on the head.

Gorgeous, beautiful birds and very easy to tame - put a feeder out you'll get flocks of them and eventually when they learn to trust you, they will allow you to go up close to them, they may even sit on the dish while you hold it.
