To some of the more experienced.

I have some childreni hatching.
Some have emerged from the egg without completely absorbing the yolk.
The unabsorbed yolk is still attached to the outside of them.
I have decided to leave them still in the incubator and they are in a SIM tub.
Is this the right thing so they still have plenty of humididty and doesn't dry out??

I have had some emerge without absorbing all of the yolk. I just pushed them back into their egg shell, they stayed for another 12 hours or so and then came back out good as gold.

Hi Fay,
I have had this happen a few times over the years and it's usually not a worry. All I do is keep them like another hatchling that has just emerged from the egg. Keep them moist and more importantly keep them clean. You will find the cord will begin to deteriorate and fragments will start to be left on the paper towel so just change it more frequently. Also if your worried a little Betadine on the cord helps keep the area clean (as it can get a little gunky). Other than that the hatchies might be a bit smaller than there more patient siblings but will quickly catch up once feeding.
