Gecko identity...

My little boy found these two in our garden today - was just wondering if anyone knew what they were?
Im thniking the first is a thick tailed gecko but im unsure as to the little fella that has the red on him.......... he are the pics............

all the younger ones have red/orange on their tails, defence mecanism or something
