Heat cord

Hey guys, I'm looking to move my heat cord to the outside of my snake tank just wondering if the heat cord would be damaged by the weight of the tank ontop of it or if i should route out groves of the table the tank is sitting on?

route grooves in the table it's on would be the preferable option, how heavy is the enclosure?

probly at least 15kgs, its a 4 foot glass with a big heavy branch in it.
