Its a brown tree snake Boiga irregularis

Nope, its a rear fanged mildly venomous colubrid.

BTS as above, brown tree snake. at that size it wont even be able to bite you they eat skinks and little frogs typically

Thanks for the rapid replies - I had quick search for more images - pretty cute little fella.

15 years here and never come across one before, have a few resident green tree snakes, whip snakes and carpet pythons.... thats why I thought it was a carpet.

definate bts,the eyes are a real give away
