Hey guys,

I'm currently keeping my hatchling pygmy mulga monitor in an aquarium using newspaper as the substrate. I've provided him with a nice hollowed out log and a thick branch. Both are working very well in terms of his ability to climb both with ease. The hollowed out log has obviously been eaten away by various insects to make it as it is today and some of it is quite fragile. The gilleni has broken off bits of it while hunting. Several days ago I saw him accidentally eat a small bit whilst consuming a cricket. Is there a significant risk of impaction from eating small bits of wood?

Regards,

Andrew

yes there is a chance he can get impaction but wouldent worry to much if you are that worried just take it out side and hit it on concrete to knock all the loose pieces off.
