hi all.!!
I need a little advice please:)
I'm looking into a brand new custom built enclose for my male Stimson, it is made from glass and Indonesian hardwood called palapi.
I'm not sure if the wood would be toxic to my boy or not. The wood is mostly just the stand as the majority is glass but the lid is wood and he is a super inquisitive and loves exploring everywhere.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.!!
Cheers

I think you should be okay, its just pine and cedar you have to look out for

Most woods are fine with reptiles, as long as they sealed. Including pine. Not sure about cedar.

There are no commercial restrictions on palapi so it should be fine. Just make sure you seal it properly as said above. If it is already sealed I would seal it again with a pond safe sealer and put some aquarium silicone along the joins in the wood to stop any liquids penetrating them.

The silicone must not have mould inhibitor in it, so aquarium silicone is fine like Scutellatus said, or glass silicone has no inhibitor either.
