could someone please steer me in the direction
of a list of which species can be kept in queensland.

i will be moving there in a year or so. how do you go
about changing your license over and can you take
all your reptiles with you.

cheers dave

You can keep most species of non-venomous herps on the standard recreational wildlife permit if you have vens ,or more than 2 womas or gtp's you will have to apply for a rec wildlife specialist permit, as for transfer of licence i'm not sure but i would think it would be pretty straight forward.

sorry to barge in on someone elses thread, but as a matter of interest.....are viridis expensive there ? i paid about ?300 ($725 ish) for a male & ?350+ ($800+) for a female (depending on quality) here in the UK
hatchlings are usually around ?250+ ($500+)
thanks
marc

Marc, they go for as little as $5000ea for unfeeding hatchies, on average expect $7500 for a feeding hatchy, limited original stock and the 'loss' of a lot of animals due to confiscation ect has meant a high demand for the amount that are available.

Holy jesus mary and joseph !! think ill pass on replacing them then !!!

why were they confiscated ? and by whom ?

Haha, GTP are one of a few highly expensive reptiles here in Oz, but most are affordable.

re keeping

Diccos right marc, and they seem to sell here regardless of color, some ide sure you would pass up overseas,i gather in UK you would be selective with the higher numbers. One would think they were a native species there rather than here in circus ozz :)

You'll need a Qld licence before you move.
They won't issue you one without a Qld address.
When you get your Qld licence, you get an export licence from NPWS and an import permit (Note: not a movement advice, you need to get a permit for this one!) from Qld EPA. Then you take your herps to Qld, and change your address to the one that is actually yours.
Simple :)

hi there, i just went through all this and it was a nightmare but worth it.
As magpie said
first you need a Qld licence, then you need both a export licence from NSW and a special permit from Qld parks and wildlife ( not just a movement advice) once you have all this it is just a matter of moving your animals..

if you want the lic fees and the licences etc youll need message me your email addy and ill forward them on as one of the wonderful ladies in qld parks and wildlife emailed me everything i needeed over here

sharon

Gee's.....what a bother.... So you actually need to leave your herps with friends in NSW for a few weeks until you get your Qld Licence... Or you could Import them to a friend in Qld until your set up...
Any takers..:p:p... Dave you know you only need to ask:p
