i was just wondering if coral lights used in marine aquairiums would be the same as uva/uvb lights used for herps (the coral needs these lights to grow and reproduce) if so the coral lights a alot cheaper :D

The packet of a good quality globe should tell you if they have a good output of U.V. and what type of U.V. it is. Sorry but can't be of more help than this as I have never used them personally. Oh yes one other thing that may help is to call the manufacturer of the lamps and ask for an output analysis. Hope this helps somewhat :)

BB,
Repitle uvb/uva lights are made of quartz thats the reason they are so expensive, you get what you pay for a cheap one would only be good for a couple of months where as a more expensive one would last for around 10months to a year.
It's best to stick to the reptile ones but it would be worth checking out the others just incase.

thanks for that guys from meomery all it said on the coral light was that it was fake sunlight to make the coral grow
