This picture was taken by a friend in the kimberleys today, I'm moving there in 3 weeks.

I know it's not a great picuture for ID but maybe someone can i.d..
 
Well for starters its not a monitor, its a Dragon.

Its a Diporiphora but not sure on which one.. Ask Eipper!

I think its Ctenophorus caudicinctus by the shape of the head.
 
Ctenophorus caudicinctus macropus.
Is probably the most common up that way.
 
Are you sure? Even for a female there isn't much patterning. But I don't know what else it could be. Maybe a patternless ring tailed huh? :D
 
Its one of the Ctenophorus caudicinctus subspecies
