How aggressive is too aggressive for Coastals when it comes to mating? Are there any other threads I can check out on this behaviour, I have been searching but haven't found anything. So far I figured if there is no biting it's ok?

I think when it gets to the point that they're biting each other they should seperated. Just allowing the males to entwine or push and shove each other is usually enough to get them worked up and ready to mate.

Thank you for the info! Being the first time I have seen this type of aggressive behaviour had me worried, especially for such placid animals. I was getting a bit worried as they seemed very rough but it didn't eventuate to biting thankfully and all is well now, thank you again for responding.
