My Diamond Python is quite nippy. Does he/she hate me?

Hey peeps,

So a few days ago I posted a thread about my diamond python, Snoot, being underweight.
I've started feeding him/her once a week with a nice sized mouse and am waiting to see if Snoot puts on some wait in the next couple of weeks.

I realized I was also meaning to ask about Snoot's behavior. Every now and again when I handle Snoot, he/she nips or bites me and even sometimes tries to constrict my fingers. My question is, could I put this behavior down to hunger due to Snoot being underweight or could it be possible that Snoot is just a cranky snake?

Any advice would be muchly appreciated

Hey mate, snoot most likely mistakes you as food if he constricts your finger, but if he just strikes fast it is a defensive bite basically telling you to go away. I wouldn't mind to much about it as if you regularly handle him he will most likely calm down eventually, hope this helps!
