Those of you that read vol 3 issue 2 of reptiles Australia mag, might be able to remember their was an article on N.levis. In this article John Mcgrath explained two ways of housing these geckoes.
1.)2 foot glass tank which ran from 2cm layer of desert sand mounded up to 15cm on one end, with a teracotta pot placed on the deeper side as a home site for the geckoes. The geckoes would use this deeper side to tunnel into and create burrows.
2.)On the 2nd example of housing geckoes there is no deep layer for the geckoes to burrow into, just a hide box, water dish and Laying box (this contained moist desert sand inside.)
My question is. N.levis do not drink much and retain moisture from hiding in their burrows, so in example number two would the geckos just tunnel into the laying box and create burrows there? Or would they just hide in the hide box and drink more water from the water dish to retain moisture.
