NOTICE TO APS MEMBERS AND GUEST
In a recent thread entitled "Scales" In which I was attempting to gauge
the thoughts of members regaurding a scale anomaly in my coastal
python, the disease opmv ~ophidian paramyxovirus was mentioned
as a possibility worth investigating.
I was asked if I had been near any other reptiles in the last 6 months.
Unfortunatly, without pause for thought, I mentioned a member known as
Gregory, who's home I had visited, in the context of weather I should
warn him, incase I had inadvertantly passed this on, if somehow my snake
had infact aquired this disease, which fortunatly was not the case.
It has been brought to my attention, that the mention of this members name
may inadvertantly lead a person or persons to beleive that this member
had reptiles suffering this disease or indeed may ever have, or otherwise cast
the shadow of doubt on this members credibility, herptological experience,
or husbandry practices or skills.
I deeply regret any such interpretations and wish to make it known among
all members that this is not the case. I have personally met Gregory and
have observed his reptiles and enclosures. His animal were all in excellent health,
his enclosures were of the highest standards, and I have only the greatest respect
for his knowledge and expertise in all areas of reptile keeping.
I handled his reptiles myself and observed their well being, also noting that his
enclosures were spotless and well maintained. To my knowledge Gregory has never
had any health problems with his reptiles, and I would not hesitate to recommend
any member ,buy , sell or otherwise trade with him at any time.
In the interest of avoiding any further misinterpretations of the thread, all references to
him have been deleted or otherwise edited by myself. Gregory, my apologies~wattso
