No, 10.0 UVB tube is mounted on a fixture inside of the mesh. And yes the tube is within 30cm of where he basks, I checked before I bought him.

Hmm, a little concerned about him today. Not interesting in eating this morning and is slowly blinking under his basking light. Crickets were getting behind the background wall so I took it out and stuck paper on the sides and back of the enclosure so he can't see out.
