Yep. Mvbs are fantastic if you have the ventilation/big enough vivarium. Great for healing animals showing signs of mbd.

For mine you can't go past MVB's. To the OP who wasn't keen on paying top $$$ for globes, fair enough and each to their own. So if I told you that my MVB's cost $90 each??? Mine are Mega Ray Mercury Vapour Bulbs - considered one of the best if not the best MVB's around. Full spectrum, longevity and a 12 month warranty.
I have one of these (160 watt self ballasted) in a Serpens 200 - Reptile One enclosure plus for additional heat I have a 150 watt spotty.
To be brutally honest it still is probably not enough heat.

Any problems with eye issues with reptiles due to high levels of UVA from MVBs ?

As far as im aware MVbs dont cause any eye issue.
Im currently looking at purchasing a "Bright Sun UV" 50w for a new vivarium build, still need to check for reviews but its a good conspect.
