Discovered this gravid female one fine morning while camped alongside the beautiful Lake Gairdner in South Australia's arid outback. It was clear what she was about to do, the huge bulges in her abdomen gave away her digging activities. From about 9:30am until late afternoon, 5:30pm or so, she did her business and left absolutely no trace of any excavation, I was amazed.
In shot #4 she had exited the now extensive burrow and headed for the shade of a nearby tree; taking a rest she took little notice of the incessant photographer as by this time she was quite used to the large, lazy herbivore that kept laying alongside her burrow.
