how gravis was frilly? surely septicemia from being egg bound is the cause.

Id have to agree with Renagade.

She looks quite small to have 8 eggs.
Judging by her size, id say the 3 mouldy eggs are from last season.
She was never sired by a male and she retained them.
The eggs went bad, causing a septic infection which killed her.

The 5 yellow eggs would be this seasons clutch.

Breeding reptiles that are big enough and in peak condition with a varied diet and access to fresh water with an occational misting. One very important contributing factor is also having a well set up nesting site/s.
physically feeling your animals you should be able to feel eggs inside that have been retained. if this is the case it's time for the vet. having retained eggs surgically removed has a high recovery rate although i wouldn't attempt to breed the female again.
