hey
i was just wondering
tonight as i was taking my 18 month yr old python out of her cage she started to hiss
she is normally hard to get out of her cage so
firstly is their any tips on how to get her out of the cage easier and
secondly why would she hiss at me
she has never bitten me and i have had her for about 6 months

Hi

I wouldn't worry about it too much, more handling and they get used to it. When we first got our Stimmies, our male used to hiss every time we took him out, hence the name Hiss. The female was always alot easier to get out. it's just a personality thing.

kk thanks
she is good once she is out of her cage
i guess i have to get her out more often so she can get use to me:D:D

My coastal just about always hisses when getting him out of the enclosure. Despite this he hasn't bitten for about 2 years. It is possible that you have just startled him. Try just touching him gently to let him know you are there before trying to pick him up. It is possible it is just in his nature.
