Mother of the female from a guy that used to live at waterfall and the male blackhead was from a breeder called Peter Krauss
from the cairns area.

Thier ages are, the female hatched 5/12/2006, she laid her first clutch in october 2009, then her 2nd
clutch october 2010, 3rd clutch november 2011 - she is now 5 years old

the male hatched december 2005, he is now 6 years old.

Both the blackheads handle fine, just during feeding time if you need to pick them up i would use a hook.
I do have an awareness stick that I use to let them know it is not tongs coming at them for a feed.
The female can be very feed orientated and you do need to give her time to realise its not feed time.
Once out though she is fine. Also these only seems to have happend mainly aroudn the time after her clutch and when a hide box is in her tank.

Blacky's would be 7 - 8 foot long and 6 - 7 kg's

With the blackheads i normaly feed them 2 or 3 x 150 gram thawed rats, about every 5 to 7 days. Except now during cooling

Prevoius clutch sizes, the blackhead has had 3 clutches both first 2 contained 6 eggs
last clutch had 13 with 2 slugs off the batt and ended up with 6 fertile. But due to my in experiance
and first clutch I only managed to get 2 to hatch.

These guys are great breeders - 2011 clutch I only introduced the male to the female for one night.

The tanks I have made up and dont look that crash hot but are functional. Both have great quailty dimmer thermostats.
Both have 3 ceramic light fittings which I have currently heat globes in 2 for each tank and 1 for light.
I have also just added a 28w heatmat "pad" to the bottom tank which I run off a timer to get rid of the coldness of the bottom.

Also have 2 Hides, Waterbowls, Rocks.

$2000 ono
