Hi all, for those that breed rats, this may interest you
I recently lost a few mums who had bubs. I wasnt sure how they were going to go by themselves as I couldnt foster them out to other mums. They werent that small, about 30grams, but all were still suckling.
So over the next 10days or so, I weighed them individually every few days and plotted their weights as set out in the attached spreadsheet. I did for the first 7 days also added a shallow water bowl, and gave allot of chopped up carrot for them to nibble on.
They were born between 6-8 Feb.
Interesting to note, that although not ideal, at 30g, they successfully were weaned off and still grew pretty well.
