I just thought I'd make this post to share what happened today and so it may help some others
Last night and today has been quite windy here, but I didn't think much of it. However, when I went downstairs this morning to get my car and go to the shops, the bonnet of my car was scratched so much it looked like someone had taken sandpaper to it- I figured out that the wind must have been blowing the bamboo screen I use to block sight to the underneath of my house (the screen rolls up when I want to get the car in or out). So, lots of swearing but not much I could do about it at the time, so I went to the shops and then made a detour on the way home to Supercheap auto to see what I could get to try and mask the scratches a bit, because this is a new car (for me) and it had a fantastic paint job before!
The guy at supercheap had a look at my car and reocmmended "Meguiar's scratch X fine scratch and swirl remover." So I bought it, brought it home and put the car under the house to get it 'cool to the touch' before applying this stuff. I've got some photos below to show before, during and after photos. There are some faint lines still present on the bonnet afterwards, but is SIGNIFICANTLY WAY WAY WAY better than it was!
The scratches
Progress shot- taken when half of the bonnet was kinda done
Done- the minimal scratches that are still there cant really be seen in the photos now
