safe herp paint

Without thinking today I grabbed a can of paint to paint the inside of my enclosure. I now wonder if it is safe.

It is a Taubmans sample pot with water based paint with a silk/low sheen finish.

Do I need to get another kind and if yes what do I need to look for?

If your enclosure is melamine you'll need to prep the surface prior to painting. But the paint will be fine just let it dry properly then seal it. It will be easy to wipe clean if sealed.

No not melamine. An old timber TV cabinet.

Just rub the timber with some sand paper (not too rough, just enough to give the paint something to stick to)
