damn the US...all they seem to care about is trades, money.. power...its sickening! They either cant see the toll it takes on other environments or most likely don't care about it...man, those guys got sum 'splaining 2 do!!! :evil:
 
Great, a piece of 3rd rate journalism. Easily recognised? Sure if you have seen one but the discription covers most shortnecks in Qld including some very rare ones.

On the salmonella side, yes, turtles kept under poor conditions probably live in salmonella soup but should carry no more than you or I. Red eared sliders are not anymore prone than any other species of freshwater turtle. Its a bit like handleing other reptiles that slide through there own feaces. Wash your hands and dont stick your fingers in your mouth.
 
From my reading of the article it seems to imply that they were legally sold as pets which I don't think was ever the case.

Am I missing something here?
