Snake regeneration

Have any of you mob come across a bhp with a light blue tail? I saw one on the Roper Hwy. I'd just got a macro lens so took a bunch of photos of it's face. It looked like a skink or gecko replacement part (the last 4" of it's tail). Do snakes regenerate lost tails ???

Steve, I once found a tiger snake that had lost its tail and the "regrowth / healing'' process had left the tail looking like what you would expect to see in a skinks regrowth.
I dont know about regrowth but the healing of this injury in a snake can look like regrowth...Make sense?
