gday everyone,
yesterday I placed my pair of adult small blotched pythons together in a new enclosure i just finished building. originally they were kept seperate for feeding reasons but i decided to now place them together because of lack of room.
tonight i noticed the two pacing around the enclosure which is not unusual at this time of night, but as the male approached the female she would wriggle her tail and often flap it against the glass of the cage, she would also open her vent as if ready to defecate, but instead released a very small amount of fluid. the female then retreated to her hide.
These two have not bred before. anybody got any ideas as to whats going on?
cheers Tom
