I have used these for various lizards and still do for a frill neck and they have worked well for me. They are a mercury vapour bulb so you can't use them on a thermostat therefore need a large enclosure or plenty of ventilation to avoid over heating.

I saw a bust once on TV and the globes looked exactly the same as the one in that photo. But clearly I was wrong anyway because someone corrected me.
