hey

i know this is not the name for them but what is a penny turtle and waht is there real name i was told that the name was wrong so what is it????

I think turtles commonly sold as "penny turtles" are actually murray river shortnecks or sometimes kreffts shortnecks. Adult female murrays can reach a carapace (shell) length of about 30cm, so definately not a "penny" turtle.

No turtle species will stay that small. I think one of the smaller species in australia is Chelodina longicollis (commonly called the eastern snake neck) which has a carapace length of 20-30cm in length.

No turtle species in the world, that I know of, will hatch at the size it will remain for its entire life.
