Yeah Western Python, I'm thinking Pseudechis australis (King Brown) but a very slight chance, Pseudonaja affinis (Dugite) but would be one of the biggest ever. Just my opinion anyway.
Yep, nice Mulga. Where are you? Ive seen the odd Mulga and plenty of Gwardar around the Bruce Rock area. The browns seem to have adjusted quite well to the wheat situation but i havent seen the Mulgas anywhere but in reserves.
Colouration means nothing, especially with regards to most large elapids. The dorsally compressed body shape, plus the dark edged scales point directly to P.australis.
