What does "Soft Deleted" mean?

Also why is a thread on Whaling deemed "not suitable for this site."

Yet there can be threads on all manner of things not related to animals or conservation?

Just curious.......

I think it means deleted with no warnings or infractions issued.

To answer your second question... this site is a Slate-atorship, not a Slate-ocracy!

I think Soft Deleted means it has been deleted but can be restored if someone chose to do so. So usually that means it's been moved to a 'Deleted Threads' forum out of view.

Hard Deleted means deleted permanently and cannot be restored.

At least that's what it means on another forum I mod.

How many whales are the japs taking?.
I heard it was a thousand in ten years,is this right?.Do the norwegians
scandinavians still take whales?
Whales are in the news at the moment and make good chit chat dont you think.

Soft delete as what Miss B said.
The whaling thread wasn't suitable because it went to being racist to the Japanese and some members were very offended.

Thanks Fay.

I didn't get back to the thread so I didn't see it deteriorate.

What's the difference between whale poaching and abalone poaching? It appears if you have a financially huge country behind you, you can break the law with impunity. Where is Kevin 07 now?
