I'm not even sure where to begin. Just over half a foot long, looks like a worm, about a cm thick, quite dead. Do worms around here even get this big? I know Gippsland has large worms, but Ipswich?
 
Probably a worm. After the floods in 2011 the giant worms that sit deep in the soil surface as the ground is deeply flooded. I'd say this is the same with the rain we've had recently. We saw them up to about 45 cm stratched out
 
i f you look closely you will see the rest of the shedded skin some snake defecate when shedding that would be the stool sample at the top of pic it is an elapid due to the single scale across the bottom
