Hey,

I wanted to know whats the difference between the WA thick-tail and just the thick-tail gecko?

Thick-tails are found in every state and territory except Tasmania, so logic will tell us that the WA thick-tails are geckos that originated from Queensland.

WA specimens might have a different pattern or colour than the same species but different Locale

Generally speaking they are also larger then the eastern locales.

Yep, WA species dont have the neck band that are seen on the common thick tailed geckos.

Hi guys
I have WA's and QLD'ers and ive found that the WA are just bigger and usually darker, even their hatchlings tend to be a little bigger in my experience. hope this helps

Yes typically WA's are a more robust gecko.
The defining difference is the WA's have uniform sized dorsal tubercles. (raised dots on their backs)

Ah sorry, isnt their a locale with no neck band? Thought it was the WA ones.

This locale???

WA Coastal ones are very pale

I don't have pics of the WA inland ones but those I've seen around Bungalbin are much darker than the coastal WA ones, and more defined by bands rather than spots unlike the above.
