Hay everyone, i just want to know how many people have whip snakes in there collection as i am trying to purchase one and wanted to know how common they are in captivity... yep pics would be great :D .

They are a pain the *** to keep, most will only eat other live reptiles such as skinks.

I think there are a lot of people who may have them in Melbourne only because they are easy to find.

Not sure how many are actually legit on licence though.

I found 4 of them in a building site about 2 years ago i took them and released them in a national park to ensure they are well away from developing land areas.

Oh just be carefull that when you do get some there captive animals. If they are not they may not eat or only eat live lizards.

cool thanks for the info....so scenting pinkies for awhile does not work...

My experience has only been with little whips i dont know about other species.

Some wild pics of D. psammophis, awesome snakes aye.
I have some better pics of the high red/blue one in the 2nd pic but cant find them right now.
