Hi all,

My small female marbled gecko has laid an egg!!!!!!:D:D:D
It took me by surprise so we didn't get time to get vermiculite but we have this stuff called
diotomite......
Is that acceptable??? If not mum and dad are getting some vermiculite after work.
can anyone please reply A.S.A.P

cheers

(a very excited) Froggies:D:D:D

yep
Well for the gex but I've had 2 beardie clutches but they were unsuccesful (I was only little and we thought we had 2 boys until the first one lol)
cheers

Congrats :)
They're pretty hardy eggs so the substrate shouldn't matter too much as long as they're kept a bit moist.

Thanks Jordo!!!!!
She has only laid the one so far RedEyeGirl.
The male has only been in there 2 weeks today!
Does anyone know how long their gestation is?
Cheers
Froggies

Eggs hatch after about a month at room temperature, if she's only been with the male for 2 weeks the egg may not be fertile but time will tell.

or shes retained sperm from a previous mating?

but if she hasnt been with a male before i'd go with jordo's unfertile opinion

Well the people who gave the original 2 gex to me (he goes to school with me) didn't really pay much attention to genders.

My frogs will not breed. We tried 2 breed them last yr but the didnt breed.congrats on the eggs

they sound like a pretty cool lizard to keep, i'll def think about getting some.

bugger!!!
that was her only egg and the other isn't pregnant either.......well not yet;)
Oh well that was only one of them so I have the other one.
