Thanks for the enquiry into our products.
We have an Australian distributor names ( Removed ).
They deal with any warranty in Australia, however they will only look at thermostats that have been officially imported to Australia by themselves. These are marked and easily identifiable.
There are also extra components fitted inside the thermostats that we produce officially for Australia as they need extra protection because of the varied power quality across Australia with some thermostats being ran from generators etc.
So in answer to your question it would be possible to simply cut the plug off and fit an Australian plug however if there was any power spike (which there are lots of in Australia) then the thermostat would have no protection which could damage a component inside the thermostat called the triac, also you would have to return it to the UK for it to be looked at because it would be a grey import into Australia and ( Removed ) are under no obligation to look at thermostats that are grey imports.
