Just thought i would post some pics of my relativly new sleepies having a munch on some fresh snails...

I freeze my snails for convenience and to kill some of the parasites off.

There are always a few stray bits around the enclosure but most of the time it stays together. The sleepies love it!!

Are Sleepies the same sort of Lizards as Bluies? Just asking, as we get heaps of Sleepies here?

Bluies are Tiliqua sp., Stumpies are Trachydosaurus sp. Totally different genus, both have evolved blue tongues.

We call em Sleepy Lizards here in SA. And they don't have a Blue tongue.

Um chez, every shingleback/sleepy/stumpy/boggi ive seen (not too many admittedly) has a bluetongue. mine does too. Intresting. Must be some with pink tongues too? like tiliqa sp?

Are you sure they don't have blue tongues Cheryl? It could be quite dark, but still blue...

Nah, no Blue Tongues here in our area. All Sleepies with a pink tongue I think?
