Green Tree Python Colour Change

When I first got it January 2017.

9th December 2017


7th January 2018.



17th January 2018.


21st January 2018.




The speed of the change is amazing.
Now the waiting game to see what colours come through with maturity.

Here it is in its new enclosure I put together today.

That was a fast change, I wonder if its been down the fancy dress shop while you been at work and got her a new outfit, lol at snakes r us or something, lol

I am wanting some input from Green Tree Python keepers past and present and any of the 'Brains Trust' also.
Tonight I noticed my Green Tree Python moving the tip of its tail, which is black, in a back and forward motion as if it were a lure. It was definitely thinking about food because I opened the enclosure straight after and nearly got tagged. Has anyone else noticed anything like this? I tried to get a video but as soon as I put my phone up to the glass it stopped. I know adders do it so it would make sense that it may be trying to lure prey and this would account for the difference in colour on the tip of the tail.

Yeah mate that's exactly what it was doing luring in a prey item...mine do it and much like your issues too every time I try to film it... NOPE!! And def be ready for the strike I leave my guys well alone after 6pm.. and try to feed the around 8pm once the sun is gone and they have has that first few hours of transition from day to dusk to night..

I might have to get it a bird to reward its behaviour. I can't see many rodents being attracted to 'worms'.
