Congrats and looking forward to seeing how the hatcys come out.

Can't wait to see the offspring from that Albino project...as well!! 8). Good luck...

Because that is a cool name Gunny.

Wasn't someone yabbering on that they were somehow like jags in the genetic side of things? Yours looks very pretty. Does anyone have a photo of the first one produced? It would be interesting to compare them.

Kris.

its just a name that the breeders made up to make them sound exiting.

hahaha thanks guys

do a few searches on previous threads about the background etc as it has been covered many times.

It has been proven to be inheritable but just the mode of inheritence is still unknown (there has been 3 generations bred I know of)

Niks reason for selling are his own

ghost is just a name given (not by me) if you like call them something else

If you think they are just another darwin you need your eyes checked! LOL

In my first clutch last year I had a fully banded unrelated female and this male and got 50:50 mix of ones like father and semi-striped ones, with no 'normal looking ones'

Nik has bred several that are way better than mine and very heavily reduced in pattern, so hopefully when I breed 2 togther I will get a few 'super' form ones like that.

still very early days and a lot of work to do.

In the new scales and tails Doc ROCK talks about complex morphs that are selectively bred for a trait and it is possible this line is like that, as not all morphs follow basic mendelin genetics. (much like red fronted turq parrots etc)

here is a pic of eggs

Nice ghost eggs. Hope they make it for you. Interesting project you got yourself.

Good looking eggs, hopefully some hatchlings even better than last years.

nice jas, best of luck ,hope they all hatch for you.

thanks guys, it's still a lot of work to go on them, but may be worth while as they are stunning in the flesh.

The eggs are the best looking eggs I get (and last year she laid 10 perfect ones also)

fingers crossed

jas

With all the time and effort your"ve put into these Darwins, its defiantly going to be worth it.They look incredible now and they are only going to get better.Awesome job, cant wait to see the outcome with these eggs...MARK

i was asking what traits make it a ghost so far no one has explained this the second photo looks like a reduced pattern darwin to me. is this just a loosely thrown term for a striped or reduced patern animal or are there coulors or lack of to define this trait.

I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY ARE CALLED GHOST

Ask Nik STOCK he bred them.

I think it is just a term giving to them.

Call them Reduced pattern darwins if you like?

here is a pic off Niks site... designerscales

This is one of the best ones as a hatchie

Best of luck with them Jas, that Darwin above is simply incredible! Nick breeds some stunning animals thats for sure.

can anyone tell me why its called a ghost?

whoever called it 'ghost' should be ashamed of themselves. 'ghost' is universally recognised as a designer-morph created by the combination of the anerythristic morph and the hypo morph.

they have either plagiarised the name, or tried to adopt it for something it is not.

i think zobo has made it clear that it was not him that named it, and he does not seem to support the name either.

i was not attacking anyone. my apoligies if you thought so zobo im just relatively new. ive kept reptiles for years now but have never bred any and would like to understand the phrases for morphs how to get them ect. just tryin to learn bud. cheers :)
