food for snakes

Well today i had two separate incidences where i was talking to people about my snake and the type of food she eats. Fair enough they were not snake people but i was still shocked that one asked me if i fed her crickets and annoyed that one said i should feed her a live mouse even after i explained the many reasons live feed is not fed to snakes. I think we need to ban together and educate the world on these amazing creatures i just wish more people appreciated these animals.
Any other weird and wonderful questions you have been asked about your snake??

haha actually i got asked if she was slimey the other day too. i finally got my sister to hold her while i was holding her head and she still had nightmares for 2 noghts after. poor snakes i think they get a bad wrap for no reason people dont understand they are animals and we impose on them not the other way around.

by the way, has anyones snake here lay out flat beside them in their bed at night? because you should get it put down if it does, means its going to try to eat you! true story, happened to a friend of mine and the vet said thats why they do it.

i often get those guys that know everything, and they say "what do you feed em? just crickets and worms and that?" they nod their head as they say this as if its true. then when you say " nah mate, rats and mice" they nod again and say "yeah just rats and mice and all that, yeah"

Funniest thing I have been asked would be ,After letting my niece know we were going to a reptile show she asked ` do you make the snakes go through hoops ?` lol I also get oh they`re slimy and a friend of mine always asks if I am going to cut the rat inhalf as it looks too big for him(yuk)

i also like to point out that my animals are not exotic, theirs are.. people saying "well id prefer less exotic animals" or "Sye, not all of us like exotic animals" and i say "my reptiles are not exotic, your dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets and english budgies, although an excepted norm, are all exotic.."
